Your Letters of Recommendation

Recommendation Letter - What exactly is that, anyway?

An application includes at least two recommendation letters, which must be completed on the university's forms. These include a short standardised evaluation and a space for a free text in which the authors express favourable opinions about you.

There are no hard and fast rules about who should write the letters of recommendation – the only thing that should not be done is to ask friends and relatives to write them.

Who will recommend you for a place at university?

The best way to decide who should write your letters of recommendation is to look at your personal biography. Of course, people from the fields of medicine and dentistry (doctors, nursing managers, etc.) are particularly well placed to assess your suitability for medical studies. Likewise, your biology teachers, for example, will be able to assess your knowledge of the natural sciences better than your German teachers..

It also makes sense to include someone who can evaluate your social commitment or experience abroad.

Every life story is unique! It is therefore best to discuss with us in advance where the best recommendations come from in your case.
